How to Choose Travel Clothing
Summer is almost

here and millions of adventure travelers have already planed where to
go. But what travel clothes to take is a major concern. The following
ground rules will help you plan right.
First, there are some basic principles you need to considerate:
1. Try for a local look when packing your travel clothes. Especially
you need to know the clothing taboo of your destination. Avoid tight
clothing or very short shorts and skirts (for women) which aren't
acceptable in some cultures. To help avoid looking like a tourist,
don't bring clothing with prominent logos. If you dress like an
international traveler, you may have your pockets picked or worse may
be the target of a racist attack.
2. Choose versatile, low maintenance clothing. Some travelers appear to
pack their entire wardrobe. The trick is finding a few key pieces that
will be appropriate in the outdoors and the city. Above all else,
travel clothing should be comfortable.
3. Take travel clothes that can easily be washed, dry quickly, are
wrinkle free, and require no ironing, such as washable silks. Fabrics
such as polyester, nylon or other synthetics are good choices. The 100%
cotton clothing takes a long time to hang-dry.
4. Opt for travel clothes that complement each other. The pants and
shirts you pack should function technically for your outdoor activities
but look casual for the city. For example, a black high-performance
shirt you wear running can also work for an evening on the town. Dark
or neutral colors such as shades of black, navy and brown are
appropriate for most occasions, require less cleaning, and are easy to
mix and match. Coordinating your travel clothes also minimizes the
pairs of shoes and accessories you are required to take.
Then, there is a list of the basics any traveler should bring, no matter what adventure is on the itinerary.
1.Pants
Even if you're traveling to a warm or tropical destination, you
still need to take pants to protect you from the sun and insects. In
addition, some places such as churches and cathedrals, if you dress
shorts, you may not be allowed into these places.
2. A long-sleeve shirt
You should always pack a long-sleeve shirt. Besides keeping you warm
when it's cold, a long-sleeve shirt will protect you from intense sun
or insects in a tropical environment.
3. Skirts/Dresses
In some cultures, women are expected to wear long skirts. Other times,
especially when it's hot, it can be more comfortable to wear a simple
dress for sightseeing or travel.
4. Underwear and sleep shirt
Take at least four changes of underwear and two sleep shirts, especially for woman.
5. Hats
Hats take up a small amount of space and do a lot to protect you from
the elements. Depending on where you're traveling, bring a waterproof
hat to shield you from rain, a lightweight hat to protect you from the
sun or a warm hat to retain body heat when it's cold. Rain hats also
provide good sun protection. So bringing a rain hat is a good choice.
6. Socks
It's best to choose socks made from Cool Max or wool, which can help prevent blisters.
These are the basic principles and detail for travel clothing. You
still need to pick some useful clothing according to your own
situation. So keeping in view the travel destination and weather
forecast, choose your travel clothes carefully.
