Attention: Fashionable Ladies Can’t Miss
The clock ticks, the

temperature climbs, and you suddenly realize that summer is coming.
It’s time to consider the summer fashion trends of 2008 now. What
everyone is wearing this summer? As a fashionable lady, here are some
general women’s summer fashion trends for 2008 you can’t miss:
1. Bright color
Claude Vuillermet, stylish of LE CUIR A PARIS says: “For this
resolutely optimistic season, color takes centre stage and joins forces
with materials.” Vivid bright colors top our list of favorite summer
fashion trends. Grass green, hot pink, cobalt, yellow, orange: we love
them all.
Tip: Pick a bright color to wear next to your face that's flattering
(blues, greens and pinks look great on almost anyone). Save the
harder-to-wear colors (yellow and orange) for pops of color in footwear
and handbags.
2. Tribal and Safari
Get ready for adventure with the newest tribal and safari looks
including beaded jewelry, animal prints and safari jackets. From
ethnic-print frocks to animal-inspired jewels, the hottest trends of
this summer are: tribal chic and urban safari.
Tip: Head-to-toe tribal looks too costumey. Opt for a touch of explorer
chic and pair it with something modern: a tribal print dress paired
with metallic sandals, a safari jacket mixed with white jeans, etc.
3. Maxi Dress
With all of the recent seasons of minis, the maxi dress is a refreshing
change. The maxi is the shape of this summer. Some of the best looks
are strapless, bold florals.
Tip: Long print dresses may be trendy, but that doesn't make them
universally flattering. Look for ankle-length, rather than floor
length, so the fabric won't overwhelm your body. Add heels and casually
upswept hair to add visual height. The sexiest looks leave the neckline
bare with long earrings and chunky bracelets. If you want a maxi dress
lathered with print, pick out large graphic prints, or prints with
either exotic or abstract patterns that won't overwhelm the wearer too
much. It makes the dress look less curtain and more glamorous!
4. Print bags
Print bags are not just for the beach or baby wipes anymore. Fun
florals, patchwork and zigzag prints like this Christian Dior bag are
the perfect antidote to serious solid-color "It" bags.
Tip: If you decide to wear a print bag with a print outfit, at least
make sure the colors mesh well; the look is easiest to pull off with
solids and color blocking, though.
5. Grecian Gowns
This has to be a favorite fashion trend this year as “goddess dressing”
can work well with so many shapes and sizes. With a variation on
styles, Grecian glamour is achievable with tunics, toga-style mini
dresses or floaty and sophisticated full-length gowns.
6. Polka dots
Polka dots add a bit of retro flair and fun to everything they touch.
Tip: There's nothing subtle about polka dots, so wear this look on body
parts you want to show off. Because the print is so graphic, opt for
simpler color combos (black/white, navy/white or red/white) for the
classiest look.
7. New floral
Forget about the tender, ditsy prints of years past. The new floral is strong, modern and sometimes eye-popping.
Tip: With bold prints, it's all about scale. Smaller frames look better in smaller prints or smaller doses of large prints.
8. Statement shoes
If you are on the short side, then a pair of statement shoes will be a
prerequisite to accompany the flowing trousers or a long floaty dress.
Without a pair of four-inch stilettos or chunky heels, it is unlikely
that you will have the height to truly carry off these styles.
Statement shoes don’t have to be high to be trendy. Sophisticated
ballet flats look great. This year there is an amazing array of styles
and heights; the only golden rule is they must have this season's
fabulous decoration.
